Kat and Franki kicked off an evening of readings, music and champagne at the legendary Parisian bookshop Shakespeare & Co. The Mademoiselle London book was featured alongside publications from GOGOParis and London Walks, and the night was rounded off by music from the Paris Sheiks and a spot of spontaneous tap dancing on a door by a lady called Ruby!

Down in the cosy basement bar, Mademoiselle London hosted a joint evening with their friends at Franglish – the conversation exchange event team.

Franki and Kat got to try out the new speed-conversational experience – 7 minutes in French, 7 minutes in English and then switching tables for a new partner.

And as well as selling some books and meeting a gorgeous bunch of people, they discovered new words in French such as glousser (to chuckle) and gribouillage (scribble).

Kat and Franki were welcomed back into the fold by their old London mates and some new French ones.

The evening was awash with beer, wine and some very pungent cheeses at this lively French bar that caters to the French community in London (and even has its very own pétanque court!)

Poets Live organiser Dylan Harris invited Mademoiselle London to add her “different voice” to the event held at the underground venue near the Latin Quarter. Alongside poets Troy Yorke and George Vance, Kat read selected poems from the Mademoiselle London book as well as testing out some new poems on the audience. Listen to the recording here.
